Terms of Service (TOS) for Exam Era

1. Acceptance and Modification of Terms
1.1. By downloading, registering, or using the "Exam Era" App ("App"), you unconditionally agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you must immediately uninstall the App.
1.2. Exam Era reserves the absolute right to update, modify, or change these terms at any time without prior personal notice. Continued use of the App after modifications constitutes your absolute acceptance of the revised terms.
2. User Accounts and Device Access Restrictions
2.1. Account Integrity: You are strictly allowed to create only one account per individual. Providing false information or using temporary/fake emails is strictly prohibited.
2.2. No Account Sharing: Your Premium subscription and Exam Era Coins are strictly for personal use. Sharing account credentials with friends, family, or coaching institutes is a violation of this agreement.
2.3. Device Limitation: Exam Era actively monitors login sessions. To prevent account sharing, we enforce a strict 30-day device change cooldown. Users can switch their primary device only once every 30 days. Concurrent logins from multiple devices will automatically logout the previous session. Failure to comply may trigger our automated security protocols, resulting in a temporary or permanent account block.
3. Intellectual Property, Copyright, and Absolute Anti-Piracy Policy
3.1. Exclusive Ownership: All content, including but not limited to Mock Tests, MCQs, detailed explanations, study notes, UI design, graphics, and code, is the exclusive proprietary intellectual property of Exam Era.
3.2. Zero Commercial Use: You are granted a limited, non-transferable license for personal, non-commercial exam preparation. You CANNOT use our content to teach in coaching centers, create YouTube videos, or sell offline.
3.3. Watermark Tracking and Traps: Every Premium note, test, and downloadable material contains a unique, non-removable User ID Watermark consisting of your registered Gmail ID and Phone Number (both visible and hidden).
3.4. Strict Piracy Penalty: If materials bearing your User ID are found circulating on Telegram channels, WhatsApp groups, pirated websites, or physical offline markets, your account will be permanently BANNED without refund. Furthermore, Exam Era reserves the right to initiate civil and criminal legal action against you for financial damages under the Indian Copyright Act.
4. Server Security, Anti-Scraping, and Fair Usage Limits
4.1. Resource Guardrails: To protect our Servers and prevent mass Data Scraping, Exam Era has instituted strict soft limits. Opening or attempting to access more than 20 distinct tests within a single 24-hour window is considered highly suspicious and a violation of our Fair Usage Policy.
4.2. Prohibited Technologies: The use of automated bots, scripts, screen-scraping tools, emulators, or any third-party software to extract App content is strictly forbidden.
4.3. Immediate Ban: Any attempt to bypass App security, manipulate the Database, or perform DDoS-like activities will result in an immediate hardware and IP ban. Banned users forfeit all Premium access and Exam Era Coins with NO REFUNDS.
5. Absolute Disclaimer of Selection and Warranties
5.1. No Guarantee of Success: Exam Era is merely a technological aid for self-study. We absolutely DO NOT guarantee, warrant, or promise that using our App will result in your selection, success, or high ranking in any competitive or government examination (including but not limited to UPSC, MPPSC, UKPSC, Patwari, SI exams, or other Exam).
5.2. "As-Is" Basis: The App and its services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. Users must use their own discretion ("Apne Vivek Se Kaam Lein").
6. Factual Accuracy, Typographical Errors, and Non-Liability Clause
6.1. No Liability for Errors: While we strive for high-quality content, human errors occur. Exam Era, its founders, and its team assume ABSOLUTELY NO LEGAL LIABILITY for any typographical errors, translation mistakes, or factual inaccuracies in MCQs or notes. If reported, our only obligation is to attempt to correct it within the App.
6.2. Not a Legal Reference: Under no circumstances can the content of Exam Era be presented as factual reference, proof, or legal evidence before any Court of Law, Tribunal, or Government Examination Body to challenge an official answer key or claim compensation for lost marks. The App is not the "Final Truth."
7. Purchases, Exam Era Coins, and Strict No-Refund Policy
7.1. Virtual Currency: "Exam Era Coins" are a virtual in-app currency with no real-world monetary value. They cannot be encashed, transferred, or exchanged outside the App.
7.2. Strictly No Refunds: Due to the instantly consumable digital nature of our content, all purchases are FINAL. We DO NOT offer refunds, chargebacks, or partial credits under any circumstances once Exam Era Coins are purchased or a Premium Test/Note is unlocked.
7.3. Forfeiture on Ban: If your account is terminated for violating any clause in this TOS, all your purchases, Exam Era Coins, and Premium status are immediately forfeited. No compensation will be provided.
8. Limitation of Liability and Force Majeure
8.1. Limitation of Damages: To the maximum extent permitted by Indian Law, Exam Era shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to data loss, device damage, or failure of the App to operate flawlessly.
8.2. Force Majeure (Act of God): Exam Era shall not be held liable for any Server downtime, App crashes, or service interruptions caused by factors beyond our control, including internet outages, natural disasters, government actions, or third-party cloud provider (e.g., Supabase, firebase, Google, GitHub, vercel, cloudflare, other CDN) failures.
9. Governing Law and Exclusive Jurisdiction
9.1. These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you services shall be governed exclusively by the laws of India.
9.2. Exclusive Jurisdiction: Any legal dispute, grievance, consumer complaint, or court proceeding arising out of or relating to Exam Era shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. By using this App, you strictly and unconditionally waive any right to file a legal dispute in any other city, state, or geographical jurisdiction.
10. Referral Program and Growth Engine
10.1. Eligibility: The Exam Era Referral Program is designed to attract new users. You are only eligible to claim a referral code within the first 24 hours of your account creation. Existing accounts older than 24 hours are strictly ineligible to claim referral rewards.
10.2. Rewards: Upon successful validation of a legitimate referral code within the eligibility window, both the Referrer and the Referred user will be credited with 2 days of Premium access.
10.3. Referrer Cap: To prevent abuse, a single user (Referrer) can only accumulate a maximum of 30 days of Premium access through the referral program (equivalent to 15 successful referrals). Once this cap is reached, the Referrer will no longer receive additional premium days, although new users can still use their code to receive their own 2-day reward.
10.4. Anti-Fraud: Self-referral or the creation of multiple accounts to farm referral rewards is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban of all associated accounts.
11. Advertising and Monetization Policy
11.1. Ad-Supported Model: Exam Era utilizes advertisements to provide high-quality educational content to Free users. By using the Free version of the App, you consent to the display of advertisements.
11.2. Tiered Ad Experience: The frequency and type of advertisements vary based on your user tier (Free, Premium, or Premium + Coins). Advertisements may be shown to unlock specific features, such as viewing solutions for Mock Tests.
11.3. Dynamic Frequency: Exam Era reserves the absolute right to increase or decrease the frequency, placement, and type of advertisements at any time to balance server costs and user experience.
11.4. Legal Disclaimer: The specific amount or frequency of advertisements is not a guaranteed service feature and cannot be used as a ground for any legal action, consumer complaint, or legal proceeding. Users acknowledge that ad delivery is subject to third-party availability and technological factors.
Privacy Policy for Exam Era

1. Introduction
Welcome to Exam Era. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy transparently explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our application. This document complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 of India.
2. Information We Collect
To provide you with a seamless learning experience, we collect specific data. We categorize this into mandatory server data, optional data, transaction data, and strictly local data.
A. Mandatory Data (Collected via Google OAuth):
To securely create and authenticate your account, we automatically collect the following details via Google:
- Email Address
- Account Name
- Profile Photo URL
- FCM Token & Device IDs: To send notifications and ensure device-session security.
B. Optional Data (User Discretion):
You may choose to provide the following information manually. This is not compulsory for app entry:
- Mobile Number: We do not enforce OTP verification. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the number provided.
- Gender & Interested Categories: To personalize your learning experience and test suggestions.
C. Subscription, Transactions & Security Data (Stored securely on our Server):
To manage your purchases and protect our platform from abuse, we record the following operational data:
- Premium Subscription Details: Start and end dates of your premium membership.
- Virtual Currency: Your current balance of "Exam Era Coins".
- Purchase History: The specific ID of any Premium Mock Test or Notes purchased using Exam Era Coins.
- Usage Analytics (Anti-Scraping): The total count of tests opened per day. We do not track the names of the specific tests opened in this metric, only the total numerical count to prevent resource misuse and data scraping.
- Security Metadata: Current Session ID and Last Device Change timestamp to enforce security policies.
D. Local Data (Never Uploaded to Our Servers):
The following study-related data remains strictly within your device's local storage and is never synced to our Supabase database:
- Downloaded mock tests and study notes.
- Screenshots taken during MCQs.
- Your specific test performance, scores, and accuracy metrics.
- In-app search history for tests or categories.
3. How We Use Your Information
We do not sell your data to third-party ad networks or data brokers. The data we collect is used strictly for the following purposes:
- Account Authentication: Using your Email to facilitate secure logins.
- Service Delivery: Using your Premium dates, Coin balance, and Purchase IDs to grant you access to the correct premium content.
- Platform Security: Monitoring your daily test open count to detect and block suspicious activities, automated bots, and content piracy.
- App Improvement & Support: Using your optional Mobile Number to gather feedback, resolve refund disputes, and enhance application performance.
- First-Party Promotions: Using your optional Mobile Number to send you updates, new mock test alerts, and exclusive Exam Era promotional offers.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your mandatory, optional, and transactional data is securely stored on a reliable cloud database infrastructure (Supabase). We implement industry-standard security measures to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure of your personal information.
5. Data Retention and Account Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your account at any time via the in-app "Settings" menu or our external support link.
- Soft Deletion: Upon your request, your account will be immediately deactivated and removed from active app access.
- Legal Retention Period: In compliance with the DPDP Act and relevant Indian legal guidelines (such as CERT-In), your account data will be retained securely on our servers for a period of 1 year following your deletion request. This is strictly for fraud prevention, audit purposes, and dispute resolution. After this 1-year period, your data will be permanently and irreversibly destroyed.
6. User Responsibilities
By providing optional data (such as a mobile number), you confirm that the information is accurate and belongs to you. Exam Era reserves the right to suspend accounts without refund if they utilize false information, engage in data scraping, or violate our community guidelines.

Refund and Cancellation Policy for Exam Era
Effective Date: May 3, 2026
1. General Strict No-Refund Policy
Exam Era provides digital educational content, including Premium Mock Tests, Study Notes, and virtual currency ("Exam Era Coins"). Due to the instantly consumable and easily downloadable nature of our digital goods, ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
Once a purchase is successful and Exam Era Coins or Premium Access is credited to your account, NO REFUNDS, partial refunds, or cancellations will be initiated under any circumstances.
2. Failed Transactions (Money Deducted but Coins Not Credited)
We understand that technical glitches can occur during online payments. If your transaction is marked as "Failed" by our system, but the amount has been deducted from your bank account, the following policy applies:
- Auto-Reversal: In most cases of a failed transaction, the authorized Payment Gateway / Payment Aggregator automatically initiates a reversal to your original payment method.
- Processing Time: The refunded amount will reflect in your bank account within 15 Working Days.
- Exclusions: Please note that these "15 Working Days" strictly exclude Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, and Bank Holidays.
- Liability: Exam Era relies on third-party Payment Aggregators and the banking infrastructure. We do not hold your deducted money in our servers during a failed transaction. The processing time is entirely dependent on your respective Bank and the Payment Gateway.
3. Disputed Charges and Unjustified Chargebacks
- If you initiate an unjustified "Chargeback" or dispute the payment directly with your bank or credit card provider after consuming our Premium content, Exam Era considers this an act of fraud.
- In such events, your Exam Era account, device IP, and associated details will be permanently BANNED without prior notice, and you will lose access to all previously purchased Exam Era Coins and study materials.
4. Account Bans and Violations
If your account is suspended or terminated by Exam Era due to a violation of our Terms of Service (TOS)—including but not limited to mass data scraping, content piracy, unauthorized sharing of Premium Notes, or bypassing our 20-test daily limit—you will forfeit all purchases.
- NO REFUNDS will be issued for remaining Exam Era Coins or active Premium time if your account is banned for malicious activities.
5. Contacting Support for Payment Issues
If your 15-working-day period for a failed transaction has passed and you have not received your refund, you must contact our support team before approaching your bank.

Request Account Deactivation
If you wish to stop using Exam Era and delete your personal data, please complete the form below. A confirmation link will be sent to your registered email address.
Critical Information - Read Carefully
- 1. Deactivation Period: Account deactivation initiates an immediate 30-day soft-deletion period. Your account will be systematically removed after this timeframe.
- 2. Partial Restoration: If you log back into the app within the 30-day grace period, account restoration is subject to system availability and technical validation.
- 3. Asset Forfeiture: By confirming deactivation, you permanently lose access to all your Exam Era Coins, Premium Plans, Mock Tests, and Study Notes. No refunds or transfers will be provided.
- 4. Legal Action & Piracy: All study materials are uniquely watermarked to your ID. If your materials are discovered on Telegram, WhatsApp, or pirated websites after deactivation, Exam Era will initiate criminal and civil proceedings under the Indian Copyright Act.
